GTA 6 Release Date: It’s time to set your alarm! Grand Theft Auto 6’s debut trailer has a release date: Tuesday, December 5 at 9am ET.
The highly anticipated unveiling of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer is poised to showcase what could potentially become one of the most significant video games in history.
Back in November, Rockstar, the game’s developer, disclosed a December timeframe for the release of the GTA 6 trailer. In their announcement, Rockstar expressed excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to announce that early in December, we will debut the initial trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. We eagerly anticipate many more years of sharing these immersive experiences with all of you.
“Thanks to the unwavering support from our global player community, we’ve had the privilege to create games that truly ignite our passion. None of this would be possible without you, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey with us.
“In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded with the vision that video games could become as integral to culture as any other form of entertainment. We hope our games have contributed to that evolution and that you’ve enjoyed the experiences we’ve crafted.”
Speculation about Grand Theft Auto 6 has circulated since the release of Grand Theft Auto 5 just over a decade ago. Initial mentions were made in a 2020 Kotaku report on Rockstar’s initiatives to address workplace culture, and official confirmation came in a 2022 press release, noting that development was well underway. The following year witnessed a significant breach, leaking in-development footage of the game, leading to the arrest of a British teenager connected to the incident.
Anticipation has been building for a release window between April 2024 and March 2025, with Take-Two Interactive, the publisher, foreseeing substantial financial gains in that fiscal year, largely attributed to the immensely lucrative Grand Theft Auto series.
